The White House, which unveiled the agenda of the ROK-US summit talks about the new policy toward North Korea, declared “building on the basis of the failure of the former government” and downgraded the US-Korea talks in Singapore to the same level as other failures in contact with the US
In a written interview with Yonhap News, Indo-Pacific Coordinator Kurt Campbell said in a written interview with Yonhap News, “We fully understand that the last four administration efforts have failed to achieve these goals (denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula).” “I think the Singapore agreement between the Chairpersons of the State Council is still in effect,” he said in an inquiry. “Our policy review carefully looked at everything previously attempted. Our efforts will build on other agreements with Singapore made by the previous government.”
"There is a reason we need a new and different approach," said Gambell, the head of Asian policy, on the new policy toward North Korea. This is because the previous approach has failed,” he said. “We have completed a thorough, rigorous and comprehensive review of North Korea policy. We have consulted closely with outside experts and some former government officials, and our path is derived from the lessons they have learned and shared,” saying, “Singapore succession” requested by the Blue House.
“It is important to leave space so that private diplomatic exchanges can be kept private,” Campbell said in an open interview just before the US-Korea summit. Therefore, we will not come into contact with North Korea, have a reaction, or share it,” he said, stating the exclusion of South Korea's involvement in diplomacy approaching North Korea.
The written interview of the'Asia Tsar', who is in charge of the ROK-US summit, said, "Our policy toward North Korea is aimed at solving, not hostile," to the question of'return to the North Korean meeting room.' It seems that the Moon Jae-in administration, which was close to the Trump Republican administration, was also included in the'hostile anti-North Korea policy'.
President Moon said in a speech on the 10th of the 4th anniversary of the rule, “The new administration of Biden in the United States has also completed a review of North Korea policy. As a result of close consultations with us,” he said earlier. “We welcome the direction of Biden's government's policy toward North Korea, which aims to achieve complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula with a flexible, progressive and practical approach through diplomacy on the basis of the Singapore Declaration.”

"The two leaders will discuss coordinating our regional approach, such as cooperation with ASEAN, cooperation with the Pacific Islander countries, and access to the situation in Myanmar," said Campbell. We will clearly share our views on North Korea, including North Korea, and will ensure that the US-Korea strategy for North Korea is kept in step. The important thing is that this visit will show that the US-ROK relations are increasingly regional and global.”
