Super high-wealth households surge due to fiscal expansion, 40% of the job budget is for unemployment income

As a result of the government's expansion budget last year, super-high net worth of more than $30 million (33.9 billion won) increased 15% from the previous year, 41% of the job budget 25.5 trillion won was covered by unemployment income, and direct job creation was only 11.2%. .

Regarding the budget for last year's jobs (other than the supplementary economy), the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 5th that unemployment income was 40.6%, direct jobs 11.2%, vocational training 8.8%, employment service 4.7%, employment incentives 25.5%, and start-up support 9.2%.

According to a research firm Wealth X report, on the 4th, Market Watch reported on the 4th that Korea rose to 11th place on the list of over $30 million in the super-high net worth last year, beating Italy and Russia.

Wealth X's super-high net worth is ranked first in the United States (101,240), China (29,815), Japan (1,300), Germany (15,435), Canada (11,010), Korea (6080 people) is ranked 11th after France (9810 people), Hong Kong (9435 people), UK (8765 people), Switzerland (7320 people) and India (6380 people). It is predicted that India will rise to the top 10.



The government's high-growth system was confirmed as an attempt to achieve 4% growth for 4 consecutive years due to fiscal expansion, with the GDP growth rate of 3.2% for this year soaring to 4.2% in six months when budgeting last year.

The expanded fiscal is operating at a growth rate of more than 4% for four consecutive years, from nominal GDP of 2042.2 trillion won based on this year's supplementary budget of 38.5 trillion won to 2128.7 trillion won in 2022, 2214.6 trillion won in 2023, and 2304 trillion won in 2024.

Last year, 6.71 million recipients of the government's 25 trillion won job budget support, and most of the 2.59 million youth recipients (38.6%) were limited to vocational training, employment services, and employment incentives.

The government's budget for jobs this year is 30.5 trillion won, a 19.8 percent increase from the previous year.

In the fiscal forecast submitted to the National Assembly on the 4th, the government announced that it would establish a growth system of more than 4% annually through an annual increase of 29 trillion won in tax revenue until 2024.

The WealthX report said the surge in super-high net worth was a result of the deepening polarization of wealth after the coronavirus outbreak.
