The declaration of an end to the war in response to North Korea was approached with an agreement on the semiconductor economic cooperation between Korea and the United States, and Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong left on the 14th to discuss the US semiconductor factory.

The U.S. Commerce Secretary and the Korean Industry Minister reached an agreement on the 9th to “share information on reducing mismatches between semiconductor supply and demand, including investment rankings,” regarding semiconductor supply.

In an agreement between Commerce and Industry Minister Moon Seung-wook and South Korea-U.S. cooperation on semiconductors, Commerce Secretary Ramondo said, "Korea and the U.S. have agreed to share information on reducing the risk of supply-demand mismatch in semiconductor production, including technology and investment priorities." "We are committed to working together to coordinate efforts to deploy our supply chain to address the current supply chain crisis and reduce future bottlenecks," he said in a press release.

First Vice Foreign Minister Choi Jong-gun, during a panic visit to the United States on the 14th, asked reporters if there was any progress on the declaration of an end to the war. The most important thing is that there is no difference between the ROK and the US in promoting the declaration of an end to the Korean War,” he said.

As Vice Minister Choi is scheduled to meet with South Korea-U.S. vice foreign ministers on the 16th, and vice-ministers of foreign affairs talks on the 17th, it is expected that the negotiations for the end of the war will be separated from Japan and approached with the United States.

Minister Moon also had a meeting with U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm on the 9th, and Secretary Granholm said, “The Korea and the United States have decided to upgrade the energy policy dialogue, which was held at the director-general level, to the ministerial level. ” he said today.

Minister Moon said about semiconductor companies at a meeting with correspondents in the United States on the 10th right after the US Commerce Secretary's meeting, saying, "There was a discussion going beyond providing data, and that the two countries should cooperate so that supply chain problems can be solved through semiconductor cooperation."

Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong said at the National Assembly on the 11th that "a lot of coordination between the ROK and the United States has been completed" and that "it will not be easy because it will not be achieved through an agreement between the two Koreas alone."
Ambassador Lee Soo-hyuk to the United States said in a meeting with the correspondents on the 9th, "South Korea and the United States are closely discussing the issue of adopting an end-of-war declaration between South Korea and the United States."

Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong said, "I will meet several partners" when asked by reporters whether to decide whether to invest in a US foundry plant this time in a panic for the United States on the 14th.
Shortly after the Korea-US summit in May, Samsung Electronics formalized the construction of a second foundry plant in the United States with an investment of $17 billion, and announced the choice between Taylor and Austin, Texas.
