The Communist Party of China, the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, the regular meeting, and the trilateral summit between Korea, China, and Japan have an ‘advantage’

The Communist Party of China and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan have restored regular talks and are showing an advantage in the trilateral summit between Korea, China and Japan.
Japan's NHK reported on the 22nd that a high-ranking Chinese Communist Party official plans to visit Tokyo this month to meet with leaders of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party and discuss resuming regular talks between the two parties for the first time since 2018.
NHK quoted a source as saying that Liu Jianchao, head of the Central External Liaison Department, who is in charge of relations with foreign political parties in the Chinese Communist Party, will visit Japan on the 29th and hold talks, and Reuters reported this again citing a source.
Vice Chairman Ryu is scheduled to meet with Secretary-General Toshimitsu Motegi of the Liberal Democratic Party and Natsuo Yamaguchi, representative of the Komeito Party, a coalition party with the Liberal Democratic Party.
The broadcast reported that they are expected to discuss resumption of consultations between senior officials of the ruling parties of the two countries, which are held about once a year but have not been held since 2018.
Kyodo News reported on the 20th that Liu Jianchao, head of the Central External Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, will visit Japan on the 27th.
Taiwan's Central News Agency reported on the 20th that the Chinese Communist Party's Central External Liaison Department said that Representative Yamaguchi visited China in November last year, met with Director Liu Jianchao, and expressed his intention to resume talks.
Director Ryu's visit to Japan appears to be establishing a cooperation channel between China and Japan on issues such as Tokyo Electric Power Company's discharge of treated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea and China's suspension of imports of Japanese marine products.
The Kyoto News Agency announced that regular inter-party exchanges between the Chinese Communist Party, Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, and the coalition Komeito Party were part of the "Japan-China ruling party exchange system" that continued until 2018.
Yomiuri reported on the 22nd that “international cooperation for safe artificial intelligence (AI) will be adopted” as a joint statement at the trilateral summit of Korea, China and Japan in Seoul.
Director Ryu's visit to Japan follows the trilateral summit of Korea, China and Japan, scheduled to be held in Seoul early next week, attended by the Chinese Prime Minister, and shows a direct negotiation system between Japan and China.
Director Ryu previously met with U.S. Secretary of State Blinken at the beginning of the year.
The trilateral summit between Korea, China, and Japan is the first summit since 2019.
Regarding Director Ryu’s visit to Japan, Reuters reported, “The Liberal Democratic Party and Representative Komeito declined to comment. “The Chinese Communist Party did not immediately respond to a request for comment,” he said on the 21st.
On the 13th, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol told China of ‘China’s role and mutual cooperation in North Korea’s denuclearization,’ and Foreign Minister Wang Yi responded by saying, ‘Priority is given to restoring trust in the unchanging denuclearization policy of the Korean Peninsula.’ Negotiations broke down.
Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party, agreed to change the ‘national convention’ to ‘national party convention’ and ‘strengthen party membership rights’ during a debate in front of the National Assembly on the 21st.
Prospective National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik said about ‘government assistance’ in a media interview, “The National Assembly has the function of checking the government.”
The Constitution stipulates that the National Assembly is an independent state organization: <Article 40 Legislative power belongs to the National Assembly> <Article 41 ① The National Assembly shall be composed of National Assembly members elected through universal, equal, direct, and secret elections of the people>.
<Cho Tae-yeol’s ‘mutual cooperation in North Korea’s denuclearization’ and Wang Yi’s ‘double-suspension trust priority for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula’ collapse, May 14, 2024>.
