As corruption issues in the camp of President Zelensky rapidly emerged after the war in Ukraine, Chairman Ham, a political competitor, was suddenly dismissed on the 26th.
President Zelensky fired the top military commander leading the fight against Russian forces in the engulfed east, but did not give reasons for the move, and in a one-line decree, Zelensky said Ukraine is engaged in fighting in the Donbass region. It announced the firing of Eduard Moskalyov as commander of the Joint Force, Reuters reported.
The dismissed chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lieutenant General Moskalou, was appointed chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in March of last year, at the beginning of the war, when Major General Oleksandr Baouliuk, who had been chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, took over as military commander in the Kiiu region.
From negotiations on 'exclusion of corrupt bureaucrats and exchange of weapons support', which arose from the decision to support German-made Leopard tanks, the Zelensky government has launched a large-scale crackdown on corruption targeting influential figures in recent weeks, About 10 high-ranking officials, including the governors of five states, Usk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia, the deputy minister of defense, the deputy prosecutor general, the deputy chief of the presidential office, and two deputy ministers for regional development, were changed on charges of corruption.
The Wall Street Journal reported on the 22nd, “Defense Minister Oleksiy Leznikow, who is close to President Zelensky, was involved in a corruption scandal and was dismissed, but in the end there were rumors of dismissal.” Sources said that Zelensky's potential political rival, Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzny, needs the president's approval to give interviews to the media, but that approval is rare." It reported on the 'confrontation between the military leadership and Zelensky's entourage'.
The WSJ continued, “Ukrainian President Zelensky is facing a political crisis again.” He is holding his head. Right before the outbreak of the war, trust had plummeted to 28% (Keiwu poll).”
In an exclusive interview with the Hankook Ilbo on the 24th, Mikhailo Podolyak, an adviser to President Zelensky, said, “Negotiations are definitely underway for South Korea to provide arms to the Ukrainian government.” It's not. It's definitely helpful for South Korea to defeat Russia by giving us weapons."
The Hankook Ilbo posted a picture of a “private office” saying, “Advisor Podolyak is a close aide to President Zelensky, and said this in an interview with the Hankook Ilbo,” and “The Hankook Ilbo interviewed at an office set up somewhere in Kiiu, the capital.”
Regarding the situation in the Donbas region, where the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was sacked on Sunday, Reuters said: “Russian forces are making a concerted effort to occupy the two eastern territories that make up Donbas, and Zelensky has made the military situation in the east difficult and painful in recent weeks. “Pro-Moscow forces are concentrating their forces on the city of Bakhmut and launching repeated attacks despite heavy casualties by Ukrainian and Western officials,” he said.

CIA Director William Burns said on the 26th, "I believe that Putin can make time for him, he can cause pain for the Ukrainian people, he can weaken our European alliance, and eventually political exhaustion will set in." I believe he will seize the opportunity to win the war in the long run as the attention of the United States and the West turns to other issues,” he told CBS of the outcome of his meeting with the Russian intelligence chief.

In November of last year, Director Burns met Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin in Turkey to discuss nuclear security issues and secretly held the highest-level meeting between the U.S. and the U.S. after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

On the day after the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, about 10,000 people held a protest against escalation and arms support in Berlin, Germany.
"We urge the German Chancellor to halt the expansion of arms supplies," the 'Rise for Peace' protest website said, "Now!... as it kills up to 1,000 people every day and brings us closer to World War III." said.
"The 'uprising for peace' was organized in part by Sahra Wagenknecht, a member of the left-wing Die Linke party in Germany, which, along with the United States, is one of Ukraine's largest arms suppliers," Reuters reported on the protests. Signs read 'Negotiate, don't escalate', and banners in the crowd read 'This is not our war'. A police spokesman said more than 10,000 people had gathered around Germany's iconic Brandenburg Gate. The police mobilized 1,400 officials,” it reported on the 25th.
